Mr Evans

Mr. Scott Evans is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Oncology Surgeon with extensive expertise in managing bone and soft tissue tumours. He completed his higher surgical training in orthopaedics on the Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Program and subsequently undertook two fellowships focusing on sarcoma and complex limb reconstruction at the world-renowned Oxford Sarcoma Service and the Birmingham Bone Tumour Service. Appointed as a consultant orthopaedic and oncology surgeon at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in 2017, he works within one of the largest units in the world, serving a population of around 20 million people.

Mr. Evans specialises in performing resections and complex reconstructions for patients with musculoskeletal oncological diagnoses. His clinical practice also incorporates primary and complex arthroplasty, including revision joint replacement. He coordinates the supra-regional sarcoma multi-disciplinary tumour board and frequently chairs the National Ewings MDT.

A passionate educator, Mr. Evans is an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Birmingham, regularly lecturing to medical students, examining their OSCEs, and supervising both general practice and orthopaedic trainees. He also serves as a registrar appraiser and is an invited faculty member for several FRCS training courses. In 2024, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Undergraduate Academy at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and was honoured with the Clinician/Doctor of the Year Award at the Blue Heart Award. Committed to advancing evidence-based care, he has published over 90 papers and several book chapters on orthopaedic subjects, with a keen interest in fostering collaborative research in the field of sarcoma.
